Belk Builders is excited to once again be a sponsor of the 2020 Harrisburg 5K and 10K happening Saturday, March 28. As a part of the community, we are always happy to meet our neighbors. It’s a great platform to share with them what we do as well as support the nonprofits, which will benefit from the funds.
About the Event
The Harrisburg YMCA, part of the Cannon Memorial YMCA, is hosting the event in partnership with the Harrisburg Parks & Recreation and the Southwest Cabarrus Rotary. The event, now in its 12th year, promotes recreation and local businesses.
Activities include a 5K run (3.1 miles), 10K run (6.2 miles), fun run one-mile course, and health expo, happening in Harrisburg, NC. The routes take participants through the charming town of Harrisburg, ending at the Town Hall. The course will be closed for safety precautions.
The health expo will be at Veteran’s Park, behind the town hall. The expo includes medical information and education from local hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare organizations. Free fun kid’s games and activities will also be part of the event.
The event kicks off at 8:00 am with the health expo running until 10:30 am.
Funds Raised Help the Local Community
Funds raised during the event go to the rotary club as they serve the needs of the community, including local youth development and Alzheimer’s research. Also benefitting is the Cannon Memorial YMCA, which will use the funds to assist the YMCA in providing programs and memberships to those who cannot afford them.
Being Part of the Community Matters to Us
As a local business that works with individuals and homeowners, Belk Builders wants to show our support for organizations that make a difference. We’re more than just a small business; we are deeply connected to our neighbors and strive to make an impact, not only in what we offer our customers but in the community as a whole.
Owner Ken Frerichs said, “We’re glad to be part of this event again this year. I especially enjoy it because I believe that recreation and living a healthy life are critical to development, especially those programs at the Y.”
There’s still plenty of time to sign up for the events. We hope to see you there.
